Plan your Talkeetna Winter Visit
It is just gorgeous when our little town is snowy, and oh so not crowded at all. Take a sled dog ride, crosscountry ski on groomed or ungroomed trails, snowshoe, or go on a snowmobile tour. Talkeetna Winterfest kicks off with the tree lighting ceremony on December 1, followed by events like the "Taste of Talkeetna", snowshoe softball games, Snow Sculpture Contest, and the "Talkeetna Bachelor Auction and Ball", and more. During winters Talkeetna and nearby Trapper Creek offer lodging in B&Bs and cabins. You can take a flight seeing tour above the Alaska Range,
browse the gift shops, art shows, and Christmas bazaars... then eat, drink, and enjoy live music and local theatre, and of course always the best views of the southside of Denali!
